WALLACE GOAL GIVES GLENAVON THE DERBY HONOURS
Glenavon made sure of seventh spot and a European play-off place with a derby victory over Portadown at Mourneview Park.
After a somewhat scrappy opening Glenavon moved in front on 14 minutes through Danny Wallace who rose well at the back post to power home a Peter Campbell corner.
There was little to report for the remainder of the first half although Matthew Snoddy did threaten for Glenavon a few minutes before the break but his effort flew over the top.
Portadown got off to a bright start after the break when Adam Salley sent the ball over from the right but efforts from both Billy Stedman and Stephen Teggart were both blocked.
But it turned out to be a fairly uneventful affair as the second half progressed, with little more than half chances created at either end and a result which confirms Portadown's place in the relegation play-off.
