WALSH AND MAYSE ON TARGET FOR SWIFTS
Dungannon Swifts secured a ninth-place finish with a two-goal victory over already relegated Warrenpoint Town at Stangmore Park.
The Swifts held a two-goal lead at the break after a fairly brisk first half.
'Point had the ball in the net on 14 minutes but Alan O'Sullivan's finish was ruled out offside.
Dungannon moved in front after half-an-hour through Marc Walsh when he made the most of a Jonathan Leddy error to fire into the top corner.
Then, on the stroke of half-time, Ryan Mayse made it 2-0 after Walsh combined with Caolin Coyle before the ball squared for Mayse to knock past Conor Mitchell.
There was no further scoring after the break although the Swifts did enjoy something of a flurry of activity midway through the second half when Mayse unleashed a rasping effort which Conor Mitchell did well to parry over before, from the corner, Cahal McGinty headed goalbound but again the 'Point keeper made the save.
