O'SULLIVAN WINNER CAN'T SAVE 'POINT
Warrenpoint Town have been relegated from the Danske Bank Premiership despite defeating Ballymena United at The Showgrounds.
Barry Gray's side went into the game trailing Portadown by nine points with three games remaining but the Ports draw at home to Dungannon Swifts was enough to condemn 'Point to the drop.
Ballymena came close to opening the scoring after just three minutes when Kym Nelson's header from a free-kick thumped off the top of the crossbar.
But the first half turned out to be a relatively quiet affair with the only other real effort of note coming on 27 minutes when Mikey Place went one-on-one with Conor Mitchell only to be denied by the keeper.
Mitchell was called into action again after the break to thwart Ryan Waide when through on goal but, as per the first half, it proved to be a game of few chances at either end.
However, that all changed with seven minutes remaining when substitute Alan O'Sullivan bagged what proved to the only goal of the game with a measured finish beyond keeper Jordan Williamson.
