CRUES EDGE THE WIN AFTER FRANTIC FINALE
Crusaders and Warrenpoint Town produced a frantic ending to proceedings at Seaview with three goals in the last ten minutes.
The Crues were on top during the opening stages with Ben Kennedy coming closest with an effort just wide of the far post from Philip Lowry's ball.
Kennedy had a go again midway through the first half with a shot from distance after some good work from Jordan Forsythe down the right.
And the Crues came closest to breaking the deadlock on the stroke of half-time but Johnny McMurray's header was kept out by a brilliant reaction save from Conor Mitchell.
The second half was a largely frustrating affair for the Crues as they came up a resolute Warrenpoint defence before, on 81 minutes, they finally found a way through when substitute Brandon Doyle got on the end of a Jordan Owens flick to beat Mitchell into the opposite corner.
However 'Point fired back within five minutes through Ray O'Sullivan with a header in front of goal from Luke Wade Slater's ball from the touchline.
But more drama unfolded right at the end of normal time when Philip Lowry bagged what proved to be the winner after controlling Kennedy's flicked inside the area and rifling the ball past Mitchell.
