BRACE FOR BONIS AS LARNE HIT FOUR
Lee Bonis hit two goals against his old club as Larne moved back into fourth spot with a storming victory over a beleaguered Portadown at Inver Park.
Larne got off to a bright start with Bonis firing wide from a Tomas Cosgrove cross early on, followed by a David McDaid effort which was blocked on its way to goal.
But Bonis did open the scoring midway through the first half with a near post close range finish after meeting a Cosgrove cross.
Larne continued to press, and might have extended their advantage after half-an-hour when Albert Watson headed wide from a corner while John Herron twice came close early in the second half.
However, it took until the 58th minute for the second goal to appear when Kofi Balmer tapped home unmarked at the back post from a deeply delivered corner.
Larne's third came just after few minutes later with a second for Bonis after he pounced when Ports keeper Jethren Barr failed to hold onto a McDaid drive.
Then, ten minutes after that, Navid Nasseri completed the scoring with a curling finish into the bottom corner beyond the outstretched Barr into the corner of the net from the edge of the box.
And Bonis might have bagged a hat-trick later in the game when he found the net again when he knocked in the rebound from another Nasseri effort only to have the 'goal' ruled out offside.
