CAMPBELL GOAL ENOUGH FOR LURGAN BLUES
A Peter Campbell goal early on was enough for Glenavon to defeat Crusaders at Seaview.
The visitors bagged what proved to be the only goal of the game after just seven minutes when Matthew Fitzpatrick picked out Campbell at the back post to turn the ball past Jonny Tuffey.
Crusaders responded positively and came close to levelling around the quarter-of-an-hour mark after a slick movement saw Jordan Forsythe lay the ball off for Ben Kennedy but his first time effort whizzed just past the far post.
The rest of the first half was relatively low key, however, with the next effort of note not coming until not long after the interval when Fitzpatrick tested Tuffey with a low shot.
And Fitzpatrick was denied again just after the hour when only Tuffey's outstretched leg kept the ball from crossing the line.
Despite the lack of opportunities, the Crues might have salvaged a point in the closing minutes when Johnny McMurray and Billy Joe Burns teamed up for the latter to see a shot kept out by the quick reactions of visiting keeper James Taylor.
