LARNE COMFORTABLE AT MILLTOWN
Larne swept to a comfortable three-goal victory over Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.
'Point created the best effort during the opening 20 minutes or so when former Larne man Luke Wade Slater saw a looping header turned behind by keeper Conor Devlin.
At the other end Cian Bolger saw a strong header from a Ronan Hale corner sail just over before two goals in as many minutes just after the half-hour mark put Larne firmly in the driving seat.
David McDaid opened the scoring on 34 minutes when, from a John Herron shot, he added a deflection to send the ball past keeper Stephen McMullan.
Then, not long after that, recent signing Lee Bonis bagged his first goal for the club with a bundled effort over the line from a Ben Doherty cross.
Larne's third came just before the hour. Doherty was provider again with a well delivered free-kick which Herron timed perfectly to nod beyond the home keeper.
And Herron almost repeated the feat, this time from a Ronan Hale corner, moments later only for the ball to go just over.
