WATERWORTH AND CAMPBELL ON TARGET FOR LURGAN BLUES
Glenavon struck twice after the break to earn all three points from their visit to Stangmore Park to face Dungannon Swifts.
The visitors had an early goal disallowed when Andy Waterworth's near post header was ruled out offside.
Glenavon came close again midway through the first half when an Andy Hall effort was cleared off the line by Ethan McGee.
The Swifts had a chance courtesy of Micheal Glynn's delivery which bypassed everyone in the box and just fell the wrong side of the upright.
Then, a few minutes from the break, Swifts keeper Niall Morgan superbly turned over Michael O'Connor's free-kick with Andrew Doyle heading the corner that followed just over.
But the deadlock was broken just a couple of minutes into the second half when another O'Connor set piece reached Waterworth who managed to get a touch to turn it over the line.
Dungannon had the ball in the net on 69 minutes but Ben Gallagher's finish was ruled out offside.
The visitors doubled their tally with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining, however, when Peter Campbell cut in from the left to lift the ball over the advancing Morgan.
Gallagher squandered a late opportunity to perhaps drag the Swifts back into the game after connecting with a cross from the right but he could only respond with a header into the arms of James Taylor.
