CARRICK STAGE SECOND HALF COMEBACK
Carrick Rangers fought back from two goals down to secure a point from their visit to Shamrock Park to face Portadown.
The Ports might have raced into the lead early on but both Chris Lavery and George Tipton were denied by a superb double save from keeper Neil Shields.
But Portadown's opening goal wasn't far away when, on 11 minutes, Michael Ruddy glanced home a header after connecting with an Oisin Conaty cross.
Emmet McGuckin came close to levelling for Carrick moments later with a fierce half volley at the near post but Jethren Barr did well to keep the ball out.
Portadown doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark when Conaty went from provider to scorer with a finish from just outside the box.
Carrick pulled a goal back on 71 minutes. Ben Tilney crossed from the left for Lloyd Anderson, in the middle of the box, to get the touch that directed it past Barr.
And they levelled right at the end through Jordan Gibson who connected with David Cushley's corner and the ball deflected off Paul Finnegan to turn the ball beyond Barr's reach.
