'GERS AND BANNSIDERS DRAW A BLANK
Carrick Rangers and Coleraine drew a blank in an end to end encounter at the Loughview Leisure Arena.
The visitors might have moved in front early in the game courtesy of Stephen Lowry's 30-yard free-kick which Carrick keeper Aaron Hogg did well to parry.
At the other end Ewan Kelly pounced on a defensive error to race towards goal but Bannsiders keeper Gareth Deane was alert to the danger while, a few minutes after that, Lloyd Anderson saw an effort blocked.
Coleraine threatened again around the half-hour mark when Cathair Friel could only fire wide after connecting with a Josh Carson cross before play switched for Jordan Gibson to send a low left-foot shot straight at Deane followed by an Anderson header tipped over.
Chances were somewhat less frequent for a spell after the break before Ben Tilney was sent clear but again Deane was quick to snuff out any threat.
Coleraine did have the ball in the net with around a quarter-of-an-hour to go but Eoin Bradley's glancing header from a Jamie Glackin cross was ruled out offside. At the other end Gibson broke clear but could only drag his finish wide of the target.
