LARNE CLOSE GAP AT THE TOP
Larne closed the gap at the top to a single point with victory over Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.
Tiernan Lynch's side raced into the lead as early as the third minute through Lee Lynch with a right-foot curling effort beyond Alex Moore after Tomas Cosgrove crossed from the right.
The Swifts levelled just six minutes after that courtesy of Darragh McBrien's thunderous 20-yard right-foot piledriver into the top left corner after Joe McCready had laid the ball off.
Larne restored their advantage seven minutes later with Lynch's second of the afternoon before, on 17 minutes, Mark Randall made it 3-1 to the visitors with a scrambled finish under pressure from Aaron Canning.
Back came the Swifts just before the half-hour mark, this time through Ryan Mayse who put the finishing touch to a move started by Adam Glenny.
Cahal McGinty might have bagged Dungannon's third not long before the break but his header from a James Knowles cross drifted just wide.
However Larne extended their advantage once more early in the second half when David McDaid provided a point blank finish to Tomas Cosgrove's cross.
And they had the ball in the net for a fifth time later in the game only for Navid Nasseri's effort to be ruled out offside.
