DONNELLY HITS THREE AS GLENS SWEEP PAST 'POINT
Jay Donnelly claimed the match ball with a hat-trick as Glentoran swept to victory over Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.
He opened the scoring midway through the first half after connecting with a Shay McCartan cross from the right to head past Conor Mitchell.
It was 2-0 just over ten minutes after that. On this occasion Conor McMenamin created the opening with a run down the left before laying the ball off for Donnelly to tap home.
Glentoran almost bagged their third early in the second half but Hrvoje Plum's goalbound free-kick from around 25 yards was well kept out by Mitchell.
Donnelly's third came on the hour. He was brought down inside the box by Steven Ball and duly stepped up to complete his treble from the subsequent spot-kick.
'Point might have earned a late consolation but Alan O'Sullivan could only look on as his effort came back off the post.
