BLUES AND BANNSIDERS DRAW AT WINDSOR
In the end last season's top two couldn't be separated as Linfield and Coleraine battled to a draw at Windsor Park.
The game got off to a lively start with Chris Shields seeing an effort blocked at one end while Jamie Glackin just missed connecting with a through ball at the other.
The Bannsiders almost drew first blood with around a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock when Matthew Shevlin was denied by Chris Johns while Conor McKendry's rebound was blocked by the Linfield defence.
Later in the half Trai Hume sent an effort over from 20 yards with Shevlin threatening again with a header from a Lyndon Kane cross, followed by an off target Aaron Traynor header.
After the break Christy Manzinga collected the ball from Stephen Fallon and tested Gareth Deane with a left-foot effort before, just after the hour, he made the breakthrough for Linfield with a cool finish over the advancing keeper after again receiving a Fallon pass.
Coleraine reacted positively to falling behind with Shevlin and Kane both having opportunities before, with five minutes left, McKendry connected with the ball around 20 yards from goal to strike an unstoppable effort past Deane.
