LECKY GIVES CRUES THE SEAVIEW EDGE
An Adam Lecky goal proved to be the difference between Crusaders and Larne at Seaview.
Lecky grabbed the only goal of the game after a quarter-of-an-hour after he met a Billy Joe Burns cross from the right to nod past Rohan Ferguson from close range.
Paul Heatley might have added a second for the Crues a little later but could only look on as his half volley at the back post was well saved by the Larne keeper.
Larne's first attempt of note came just before the break when Mark Randall found Ronan Hale down the left and his curling effort from distance went just wide of the far post.
Indeed, the visitors ended the half well, coming close again when skipper Jeff Hughes saw a header from Ben Doherty's free-kick saved just inside the post by Jonny Tuffey.
After the break Heatley had another opportunity with an attempted lob over Ferguson only for the ball to drop just wide of the post.
Hughes also threatened again, this time with a header during a goalmouth scramble but Tuffey was on hand to make the save.
The Crues almost doubled their lead late on but, again, Heatley was unlucky to just miss the target.
