HAT-TRICK FOR McCRUDDEN AS REDS HIT FIVE
Michael McCrudden bagged a hat-trick as Cliftonville clocked up a five-goal victory over Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.
The Reds held a comfortable lead at the break, moving in front as early as the eighth minute when McCrudden cut in from the right before sending a left-foot curling effort beyond Andy Coleman into the opposite corner.
And it was 2-0 five minutes after that. Chris Curran was brought down inside the box by Daniel Wallace with Ryan Curran duly converting the subsequent spot-kick despite Coleman diving the right way.
There was almost a third on 39 minutes when Daire O'Connor saw an effort blocked and the follow up cleared off the line.
But that third goal did arrive in first half stoppage time courtesy of McCrudden's second of the afternoon, a point blank finish after O'Connor had created the opening.
McCrudden then laid claim to the match ball just after the hour, getting the final touch to divert the ball over the line after Rory Hale had slipped the ball past Coleman.
The scoring was completed midway through the second half courtesy of a superb finish from O'Connor after Hale had again provided the assist with a ball over the top.
