LARNE CLOSE GAP AT THE TOP
Larne swept to a three-goal victory over Dungannon Swifts at Inver Park to close the gap at the top to two points.
Mark Randall opened the scoring after nine minutes after receiving the ball from a throw-in and sending a superb effort past Roy Carroll into the top left corner.
Randall might have doubled Larne's lead midway through the first half after racing through the middle to test Carroll but the former Northern Ireland international keeper did well to tip the ball over.
He was kept busy making saves also from Johnny McMurray, Martin Donnelly and Tomas Cosgrove.
Further chances came towards the break through McMurray and Jeff Hughes but Larne's second eventually came in the 53rd minute when Randall sent in a free-kick which was deflected into his own net by Swifts defender Douglas Wilson under pressure from McMurray and Albert Watson.
Larne then extended their advantage further still with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Donnelly's 20-yard free-kick ended up in the net via the woodwork and a slight flick off Ben Gallagher's head.
