CLINICAL SECOND HALF PERFORMANCE SEES BLUES WIN
A clinical second half display helped Linfield sweep to a comprehensive four-goal defeat of Dungannon Swifts at Windsor Park.
Although scoreless at the break, both sides did have their chances to move in front.
Mark Patton saw a 25-yard free-kick saved by Chris Johns while Niall Quinn fired wide from a good position soon after at the other end.
A couple of Shayne Lavery efforts met a similar fate midway through the first half before, not long from the break, Rhyss Campbell fired over from 20 yards.
Lavery came close again just after the hour with a header from Kirk Millar's free-kick before, on 66 minutes, Andrew Waterworth nodded Linfield in front after Jimmy Callacher had delivered the ball from the left.
Then, six minutes after that, Lavery made it 2-0 with a lob over Sam Johnston with the outside of his right foot from Jordan Stewart's lay-off.
A third Linfield goal arrived moments later courtesy of Callacher's header after he rose highest to meet a Millar corner.
And the scoring was complete five minutes from time in almost identical fashion when, once again, Millar delivered for the unmarked Callacher to convert.
