SKY BLUES REDISCOVER HOW TO WIN AT HOME
Ballymena United picked up a first home league win since December last year with a two-goal victory over Warrenpoint Town.
United started the game well with chances falling early on for Leroy Millar and Paul McElroy.
It was perhaps no surprise, then, when the deadlock was broken after just a quarter-of-an-hour when Cathair Friel, making his return to first team action, got his head to Ross Redman's curling free-kick to direct the ball past Gabriel Sava.
'Point might have levelled soon after when Jonny Addis conceded a free-kick in a dangerous position just outside the area but Kealan Dillon could only send the subsequent set piece just over at the far post.
But Ballymena doubled their advantage with four minutes of the first remaining after Trai Hume provided the defence splitting pass for McElroy to cut inside and knock home his third goal of the season.
Friel came close to adding a third midway through the second half when he found himself one-on-one with Sava from Shay McCartan's pass but the 'Point keeper did well to deal with the danger.
The visitors had a chance to reduce the arrears on 77 minutes but Dillon was unlucky to see his six-yard effort in a crowded box go over via a deflection off Addis.
