RANDALL BAGS LARNE'S WINNER
Mark Randall scored the only goal of the game as Larne defeated Glenavon in the evening kick-off at Inver Park.
The former Arsenal man struck after a quarter-of-an-hour with a close range finish after a John Herron ball fell into his path via a deflection off James Singleton.
Herron will feel he should have added a second for Larne with a header over from six yards after Dean Jarvis had found him with a cross from the left while, for Glenavon, Conor McCloskey produced a fantastic save from Larne keeper Conor Mitchell from the edge of the area.
Not long after the break Larne hit Glenavon on the counter attack when Joe Tully sent Lee Lynch clear but Johnny Tuffey did well to make the save at full stretch to keep Tiernan Lynch's side in front.
However, as the second half progressed, Glenavon looked the more likely to score with McCloskey coming within a whisker of equalising when his 25-yard free-kick smashed off the crossbar just as it looked destined for the top corner.
McCloskey did find the net soon after with another effort from distance but this was ruled off offside.
Then, after that, Jack O'Mahony flashed a shot just wide from the edge of the area before, in stoppage time, McCloskey was unlucky again with a low right-foot effort which flashed just past Conor Mitchell's post.
