SCORELESS STALEMATE AT SEAVIEW
There were no goals at Seaview as both Crusaders and Cliftonville lost further ground in the title race.
With both sides trailing leaders Linfield by 11 points ahead of kick-off this was the chance for one of them to close that gap back to single figures, but the draw that was produced failed to benefit either side of the north Belfast rivalry.
After a quiet opening 20 minutes the Reds did have the ball in the net through Joe Gormley but this was ruled out offside.
But that failed to spark life into proceedings although there was a brief flurry of excitement in the latter stages of the first half.
Cliftonville keeper Richard Brush was called into action to dive to his right to get his fingertips to Chris Hegarty's volley from a Paul Heatley free-kick.
And Brush produced another save a few minutes after that to thwart Paul McElroy after he had done well to get past Chris Curran from Rory Hale's pass.
After the break Jordan Owens came closest to breaking the deadlock when he connected with a Michael Ruddy cross to head against the outside of the left post.
At the other end Gormley had a chance for the Reds when, from a long Jamie Harney pass, he took a touch to control the ball before slicing it wide of the right post.
There was one last chance in the game, this time for the Crues, when Hegarty nodded wide from a Heatley free-kick.
