ALL SQUARE AFTER ENTERTAINING MOURNEVIEW ENCOUNTER
Glenavon twice came from behind to secure a point from Glentoran's visit to Mourneview Park.
An early flurry of activity came close to producing a goal for both sides with Dylan Davidson seeing an effort stopped by Marijan Antolovic while, at the other end, Aaron Harmon was on hand to clear Robbie McDaid's scuffed shot off the line.
The deadlock was broken on 18 minutes, however, when Ruaidhrí Donnelly laid a cushioned header off for Navid Nasseri to send a controlled finish low past Johnny Tuffey.
Donnelly came close to doubling Glentoran's with a sweetly taken volley that struck an upright while Paddy McClean was unable to convert the rebound.
A let off, Glenavon levelled a couple of minutes later through Daniel Purkis with a well taken header after running onto a Josh Daniels cross from the right to divert the ball past Antolovic.
Glentoran regained the advantage just before the hour with Nasseri's second of the game, taking the ball around Tuffey after Donnelly had played him in following a counter attack.
But back came Glenavon on 71 minutes in somewhat fortunate circumstances when a Harmon cross was caught by the wind to disorientate Antolovic before ending up in the top corner.
The visitors will feel they should have claimed all three points when they were awarded a spot-kick after Harmon was penalised for handball whilst defending a Paul O'Neill cross. However, Nasseri's subsequent effort was well saved by Tuffey with a full stretch dive to his right to tip the ball round the post.
