O'NEILL DOUBLE HELPS SEND GLENTORAN BACK TO THE TOP
Glentoran swept back to the top of the table thanks to a crushing four-goal defeat of Glenavon at The Oval.
After a low key start to proceedings the Glens moved in front on 21 minutes when Paul O'Neill made the most of a miscommunication between Andrew Doyle and Jonathan Tuffey to slot the ball home into an unguarded net.
Navid Nasseri made it 2-0 on 40 minutes after some quick thinking from Joe Crowe found him inside the box to confidently send a low effort beyond Tuffey's reach.
And Glentoran put the game to bed on the stroke of half-time after Robbie McDaid flicked number three past Tuffey after a Nasseri cross was headed goalward by O'Neill.
Then, just past the hour, O'Neill doubled his tally for the evening to complete the scoring when he got on the end of a Nasseri through ball to dink the finish over the onrushing Tuffey.
