STORMING START SECURES SEAVIEW POINTS FOR CRUES
Three goals inside the opening half-an-hour helped Crusaders sweep to a crushing defeat of Larne at Seaview.
The Crues moved in front as early as the third minute when referee Ross Dunlop adjudged that Larne's Tomas Cosgrove had handled inside the box and from the subsequent spot-kick Jamie McGonigle duly beat Conor Devlin.
Then, on 22 minutes, it was 2-0 when Jordan Owen's header crept over the line at the back post via a deflection after Jordan Forsythe had crossed from the right.
And number three arrived seven minutes after that with McGonigle's second of the afternoon, he cut inside to send a left-foot shot past Devlin at the near post after Owens had won a knockdown.
Martin Donnelly had an opportunity to pull one back for Larne just before the break but despite getting past a couple of defenders he could only fire straight at Gerard Doherty.
Rodney Brown had a chance to make it 4-0 just before the hour but his header from a corner flashed wide while, for Larne, Cosgrove played substitute Mark Randall in on the left side of the area but Doherty made the save to keep the visitors out.
The Crues had one last opening to extend their advantage when Owens lifted a pass over the defence to send Paul Heatley clear but Devlin was aware of the threat to beat the ball away.
