CRUES TO THE FOUR AT MILLTOWN
Crusaders got 2020 off to a perfect start with a crushing four-goal defeat of Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.
Jordan Owens opened the scoring with what proved to be the first goal of the New Year when, on seven minutes, he glanced the ball past Mark Byrne after Jarlath O'Rourke had sent the ball into the area.
That was how it stayed until just before the break. Jamie McGonigle doubled Crusaders' lead with a superb 25-yard effort into the top corner after cutting inside to give Byrne no chance.
And McGonigle had a say in the third goal on 59 minutes after his cross from left was diverted into his own net by the unfortunate 'Point skipper Danny Wallace.
Paul McElroy then completed the scoring with 12 minutes to go, simply tapping home after substitute David Cushley had done well to send the ball across.
