GLENTORAN MAKE IT A FESTIVE CLEAN SWEEP
Glentoran made it four wins from four over the Christmas period with a workmanlike two-goal defeat of Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.
The Glens hit the front after 23 minutes courtesy of William Garrett's powerful header from Hrvoje Plum's corner.
Dungannon had chances of their own in the first, namely through Dylan King and a long range effort from Terry Fitzpatrick.
The visitors doubled their lead nine minutes after the break when Elvio van Overbeek headed home Navid Nasseri's expertly delivered cross.
The Swifts refused to surrender with Ben Gallagher firing just over with a 35-yard snapshot.
Swifts keeper Conner Byrne did well soon after to deny both Robbie McDaid and Patrick McClean but Glentoran were comfortable throughout to take the points and complete a positive festive period.
