LARNE COMPLETE SHOWGROUNDS DOUBLE OVER SKY BLUES
Larne defeated Ballymena United at the Showgrounds for the second time this season thanks to a Johnny McMurray doubled coupled with Conor McKendry's stoppage time free-kick.
The visitors moved in front around the half-hour mark through former United old boy McMurray who made the most of a breakaway to send a half volley past Jordan Williamson from outside the area.
It was the only bright moment in an otherwise largely dull first half but, thankfully for the assembled spectators, the second 45 minutes were much more lively.
United levelled just before the hour through Ross Lavery who beat Conor Devlin with a crisp strike through a ruck of players.
However McMurray restored Larne's lead on 69 minutes after charging down a Williamson clearance from a poor Leroy Millar backpass but, with five minutes remaining, Andy McGrory looked to have earned a point for the Sky Blues with a left-foot finish after Larne had failed to clear a throw-in.
Larne had the last laugh, though, when McKendry's set piece evaded everyone and although Williamson did get a hand to it he couldn't stop it going in.
