McCREADY BRACE SETS INSTITUTE UP FOR FIRST WIN
Institute collected their first win of the season with victory over Warrenpoint Town in the big basement battle at Milltown.
All the goals came in the first half with Joe McCready firing 'Stute into a commanding lead with two strikes in as many minutes early on.
He opened the scoring on 11 minutes with a low 30-yard effort which 'Point keeper Evan Moran failed to stop despite getting a hand to the ball.
Then, just sixty seconds later, it was 2-0 after McCready pounced on a poor Danny Wallace header to slot the ball between Moran's legs.
Wallace redeemed himself somewhat just after the half-hour mark with a header from Matthew Lynch's free-kick but, just one minute later, 'Stute restored their two-goal cushion with a deflected Aidan McCauley strike.
There were no further goals after the break, although McCready did come close to claiming his hat-trick just after the hour after being played through by Aaron McGurk.
