ROESIDERS TAKE A STEP CLOSER
Limavady United kept up their title push with a comprehensive victory over Queen's University at The Showgrounds.
Alex Pomeroy fired the Roesiders in front as early as the seventh minute after cutting inside Tommy Smyth to fire home from just outside the six yard box.
It was 2-0 just before the half-hour mark after Ruairi Boorman got the final touch following a goalmouth scramble, and it got worse for the visitors when Jack Ovens was sent off for a second bookable offence just before the break.
They did pull a goal back in first half stoppage time, however, when Mikey Withers poked the ball past the advancing Richard Purcell.
But Limavady restored their two-goal advantage on the hour courtesy of a Pomeroy spot-kick before, five minutes after that, Michael McCrudden completed the scoring with a finish into the bottom corner.
