SWANS STORM TO FIVE GOAL VICTORY
Newington swept to a five-goal victory over Banbridge Town at Solitude on the day they were presented with the Lough 41 Premier Intermediate League trophy.
The Swans needed just five minutes to open the scoring when Darren Stuart found the net with their first attack of the afternoon.
Banbridge might have levelled with around a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock when Sam Robb hit the crossbar before Stephen McCavitt sent a free-kick against the post.
However, Newington doubled their advantage midway through the first half courtesy of a Conal Burns finish following a defensive mistake before Stuart added a third on the stroke of half-time.
And the champions added to their tally after the break through Ciaran Lundy and Gary Warwick to put the cap on an historic double-winning season.
