TUMELTY BAGS HAT-TRICK AS PSNI HIT FIVE
Tony Tumelty bagged a hat-trick as PSNI defeated Tobermore United at Fortwilliam Park.
Jake Moore opened the scoring for the visitors after 11 minutes with a simple tap-in after the ball had come back off an upright.
Eamon McAllister levelled for Tobermore just six minutes later after running onto a Gary Keane knock on to confidently beat Tom Hegan.
The PSNI regained the advantage, however, midway through the first half courtesy of Matthew Hanna’s close range finish after the ball had been worked over from the left.
That was how it stayed until just after the hour when PSNI skipper Tumelty hit three goals in just 13 minutes.
His first, on 62 minutes, was a strike from the right side of the area in off the left post after receiving the ball from Moore. He doubled up from the spot five minutes later before, with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining, scrambled home his third from Lukasz Adamczyk’s lay-off.
