DERBY DELIGHT FOR DOLLYBIRDS
Dollingstown hit five goals in a derby victory over Banbridge Town at Planters Park.
The game got off to a frantic start with four goals inside the opening half-an-hour. Christopher McMahon fired Banbridge in front on ten minutes but Stephen Acheson levelled a short time later.
Stephen McCavitt found the net from an acute angle to restore the advantage for the visitors but Daniel Gordon struck on 27 minutes to make it 2-2.
Gordon then doubled his tally with a header from Liam Toman’s cross just before the break to edge the Dollybirds in front for the first time before Gary Liggett made it 4-2 early in the second half. Oisin Barr completed the scoring with five minutes remaining.
