SEASIDERS HOLD ON AT SOLITUDE
Bangor withstood a second half revival to claim all three points from their visit to Solitude to take on Newington.
Despite creating numerous opportunities in the opening exchanges the Seasiders had to wait until the 29th minute to break the deadlock when Dylan O'Kane rose to head home Isaac Fletcher's cross.
The visitors made it 2-0 on 38 minutes. Jamie Glover did well down the left flank to cut inside and cross into the box where the unfortunate Daniel White could only turn the ball into his own net.
Then, five minutes after that, Ben Arthurs extended Bangor's lead after forcing his way into the box to knock the finish past Marc Maybin.
Newington pulled a goal back six minutes into the second half when Gary Warwick sneaked in to direct the ball past Matthew Anderson.
The Swans then almost reduced the deficit further only to be denied by a goalline Fletcher clearance but, on 69 minutes, Ciaran Lundy did bag their second with a header from close range.
And they almost levelled right at the end only to be denied by some last ditch defending from Reece Neale in clearing the ball off the line.
