SWANS RECOVER TO START CAMPAIGN WITH A WIN
Recently appointed Newington boss Paul Hamilton continued his winning start to his time in charge of the Swans with victory over PSNI in this Lough 41 Premier Intermediate League opener at The Dub.
After defeating Killyleagh YC in the Steel & Sons Cup ten days ago attention switched to league matters and, as with that cup win, Newington powered back from going behind early on to emerge on top.
Kyle McCleery opened the scoring for the PSNI as early as the second minute but Aodhán Gillen levelled for Newington after a quarter-of-an-hour.
Neil Cummings then edged the visitors in front in the closing minutes of the first half before, with less than 15 minutes remaining, Patrick Downey made sure of the points for Newington.
