SEAHAWKS HIT FIVE TO GO SECOND
Portstewart leapfrogged Newington into second spot in the Bluefin Sport Premier Intermediate League following a crushing defeat of the Swans at Mullaghacall.
The Seahawks made their mark on the game early in the first half when Mark Edgar and skipper John Watt scored within five minutes of each other, although Newington did claw one back just before the break through Ethan Devine.
However, substitute Karl Steele restored Portstewart's two-goal advantage four minutes into the second half.
Another substitute, Chris Hanson, added a fourth after the hour before Eoin Gillan, Portstewart's third sub, completed the scoring five minutes from time.
