NEWINGTON MAINTAIN 100% START WITH NARROW WIN
Newington made it six points from two outings with victory over Dollingstown at Planters Park.
The only goal of the game came via a successfully converted Johnny Gowdy spot-kick on 18 minutes awarded after Ryan Gourley had committed a foul in the area.
Dollingstown might have levelled later in the first half through substitute John Kernaghan but he was thwarted by a superb stop from keeper Marc Maybin.
After the break Newington looked to push home their advantage but found Steven Maguire difficult to beat while, as the game progressed, Dollingstown came closest to salvaging something when a cross from Glenn Hand found Gary Liggett but Maybin was on hand to push his downward header past the post.
