Newington bounced back from an opening day defeat to secure the points from this visit to newly promoted Portstewart.

The Swans squandered the opportunity to seize the advantage midway through the break when Conal Burns failed to convert from the spot.

However, two goals either side of the hour from Michael McArdle and Ryan Morrison saw Conor Crossan's men sweep to victory in the blustery conditions.
