Robbie Hume almost snatched the winner for Limavady (Picture: Lorcan Doherty/

Moyola might have moved in front as early as the eight minute when Daniel McIlhatton whipped in a cross from the right but it bypassed everyone when a touch could well have paid dividends.

At the other end Joe McCready saw a shot blocked by defender Steven McQuillan while, a little time after that, United 'keeper Paul Wells punched an Aaron Harris delivery punched clear.

United had a chance on 35 minutes through player-manager Paul Owens which forced home 'keeper Marcin Farniok to gather at the second attempt. The visitors had two further chances on the stroke of half time with Bryan McClelland heading over before McCready fired wide.

After the break Robbie Hume saw an audacious chip from outside the box drift off target but chances at either end continued to be at something of a premium, although Owens did head wide from a good position with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining while Moyola's Conor Taggart was teed up by McIlhatton only for his weak effort to fail to trouble Wells.

The deadlock was almost broken on 89 minutes after Hume worked his way into the area before turning a glancing header against the crossbar.

Moyola finished the game with ten men following McIlhatton's stoppage time dismissal for violent conduct.
