Banbridge started brightly, threatening early on when Ryan Moffatt fired a free-kickwide of the target but, almost immediately, the Whites responded well only to be thwarted by a header off the line from Andrew Wilson.

As the first half progressed, Town created the better opportunities. Neil Clydesdale was presented with a free-kick on 20 minutes but couldn't keep the ball down while he also enjoyed further chances as did Kevin Anderson.

Banbridge were reduced to ten men early in the second half after Stuart King picked up two cautions within moments of each other.

Distillery also lost a man, Rhys Grainger, for violent conduct after an hour.

The deadlock was broken on 68 minutes with what proved to be the winner. After some good play down the right, the ball was squared to the unmarked Moffatt just inside the area who wasted no time in beating 'keeper Jack McCrea.
