The Roesiders moved in front when Joe McCready slotted beyond Tuda Murphy after just three minutes - and they might have added to their lead after a quarter-of-an-hour when the 'keeper spilled a shot but the rebound was scrambled away.

Limavady had another good chance to double their advantage when, in the 24th minute, McCready was put though by Paul Owens but the chance was missed.

With 10 minutes left of the half, Banbridge at last began to create something of their own. Andrew Wilson scorched past defender Declan McKeever but the run and subsequent cross came to nothing while the same player forced a save from 'keeper Paul Wells as half-time closed in.

Banbridge emerged from the dressing room after the break a completely revitalised side.

They dominated the match from the kick off and had only six minutes to wait before Kevin Anderson fired home the equalising goal after excellent work by Neil Clydesdale.

Then, on 72 minutes, they moved into the lead when Stephen Acheson rose to nod a Ryan Moffatt free-kick into the net.

And, just three minutes later, Moffatt added a third at the second attempt after his initial effort was blocked.
