Stewart Nixon (41p)

The first half produced few chances with both defences being very much on top. The closest to a goal came in the 10th minute, when Dergview defender Thomas Wray headed against his own post from a corner.

That was until the 41st minute, when the Comrades took the lead with a penalty. Stewart Nixon did well to get on the end of a high ball played into the box and in trying to make space for a shot was taken down by Graeme Taylor. The referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and Nixon himself stepped up to convert confidently.

Ballyclare weren't able to make their lead more comfortable in the second half, despite having a couple of good chances, which saw the lively Nixon denied by fine saves from Alan Buchanan.
