Stuart Hutchinson (29)

A Stuart Hutchinson goal after 29 minutes was enough to secure all three points for the PSNI and reverse a four-goal mauling inflicted upon them by Institute the last time the sides met.

He finished off what was possibly the best passing move in the game. The accuracy and speed of the approach penetrated the 'Stute defence and Lukasz Adamczyk's pass to Hutchinson saw the big midfielder score from a tight angle when his shot was drilled under the body of the onrushing Martin Gallagher.

The PSNI were unfortunate not to go into the break 2–0 up when a James Wright effort from all of 30 yards was brilliantly saved by Gallagher.

Institute, as expected, started the second half the brightest but it didn't take the PSNI long to once again take control of the game.

On 68 minutes Gallagher's fingertips were enough to push the ball onto the upright following a Wright 25-yard free-kick.

Despite having the upper hand the PSNI could not increase their lead, but when the final whistle blew, that single goal was enough to bag all three points.
