It was the visitors who had much the better of the first half at Holm Park but despite all their possession John Connolly in the City goal was only called into action once.

It was the home side however that took the lead in added on time at the end of the half when Conor Mullen hit a superb effort from 25 yards giving Celtic 'keeper Conor McCorry no chance.

City came out in the second half and started to play with real confidence creating a number of half chances.

The lead was doubled midway through the half when Kerr's excellent pass found Mullen who outpaced the defence to slot the ball home.

Then, 13 minutes from time, the match was settled when Mullen completed his first ever hat-trick for the club with an accomplished finish from close range following some fine build up play.
