Bangor occupy top spot in the Playr-Fit Championship following victory over Institute, while morning leaders HW Welders crashed at home to Limavady United.

There were also victories for Annagh United, Newington and Dundela while Ards picked up three points on Friday night.

The Seasiders moved into pole position with a 3-1 defeat of Institute at Clandeboye Park.

Ben Arthurs struck either side of the hour mark, but Jamie Brown pulled one back for the visitors on 72 minutes. However, Matthew Ferguson restored Bangor’s two-goal cushion with just over ten minutes to go after holding off his marker to slot past keeper Fintan Doherty.

HW Welders shipped five goals to Limavady United at the Blanchflower Stadium.

Lewis Tosh edged the Roesiders in front on 28 minutes, with Welders keeper Jack Mills palming a corner into his own net in first half stoppage time.

Tosh struck again ten minutes after the interval with late goals from John Butcher and Graham Crown ensuring a comprehensive victory for the visitors.

Dundela also won well on the road after hitting three without reply past Ballyclare Comrades at Dixon Park.

Michael McLellan opened the scoring with a 34th minute header, following by Ian Fletcher five minutes after that following a poor clearance.

Aaron Prendergast then added a third for the Duns with ten minutes left.

Annagh United needed a 79th minute penalty to get the better of Ballinamallard United at the BMG Arena, with Nathan Kerr knocking home the decisive spot-kick.

Meanwhile, at Holm Park, Elijah Seymour struck Newington’s winner with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining as they edged past Armagh City.

Ards kicked the weekend off with a Friday night victory over Newry City at The Showgrounds thanks to goal from Patrick Cafolla, Mark Carson, Eamon Scannell and Conor Scannell while Ryan McNickle hit a consolation for the home side.
