Dollingstown lead the way and keep up their 100% record in the Playr-Fit Premier Intermediate League after another win today.
The Playr-Fit Premier Intermediate League returned after a three week break with a big weekend of action across the five games in the third tier.
Daniel Gordon proved to be the match winner with the only goal for leaders Dollingstown, as they navigated through a hard-fought 1-0 victory at New Grosvenor Park against Lisburn Distillery.
Second placed Warrenpoint Town continue to keep pace with the Dollybirds, but they had to come from behind at Portstewart. The Seahawks gave their visitors an early scare through goals from Ciaran O’Hara
But ‘Point came back through two goals from Michael Leddy and a Jim O’Hanlon penalty to return home from the north coast with three points, and keeping the gap between them and the leaders to just five points.
Similarly, Queens University also came from behind to win at home to Tobermore United. Owen McKeown had opened the scoring in the first minute, but after going in level at the break through Ronan Young – it was a double from captain Matthew Hughes that sealed all three points at the Dub.
At Mill Meadow, Dergview came out on top after racing into a two goal lead after just three minutes. Bobby Sweeney scored a third for the Tyrone side in the second half, as Moyola’s goals came through Declan Martin and a late consolation from substitute Leon Graham.
On Friday evening, Ruari Fitzpatrick’s goal was enough to give Rathfriland Rangers victory at home to third placed Oxford Sunnyside.
