It was another action packed Playr-Fit Championship weekend as the leaders dropped points as the chasing pack capitalised in the race for promotion.
At Clandeboye Park, leaders Bangor were denied another victory by Armagh City following a late equaliser.
The Seasiders, who still enjoy a ten point lead in the Championship looked on track to record their 14th victory in 18 matches, thanks to a goal from captain Lewis Harrison but four minutes into stoppage time, Conor Mullen stepped up to make sure that points were shared with Armagh.
That result meant that the chasing pack had the chance to make ground, and second placed Limavady stepped up with a resounding victory over Newington at the Showgrounds.
Paul Owens’ men won 4-1 with goals from John Butcher, Andrew Whiteside, Matthew Walker and substitute Joe McCready in a dominant display that keeps the newly promoted side in the promotion places on goals scored. Patrick Downey scored a consolation goal for the visitors.
Dundela remain in the mix after a hard fought away win at Ballinamallard United, they are level on points with Limavady United but currently occupy third place in the table. Michael McLellan opened the scoring from the spot and Ewan Kelly was also on target for the Duns in a 2-1 victory at Ferney Park, in which the home side only managed a late consolation through Dean Corrigan in stoppage time.
There was a resounding victory HW Welders at home to Ards, the East Belfast outfit won 4-0 thanks to two goals from Tiarnan O’Connor alongside Josh Kee and Ewan McCoubrey.
It was a late show from Institute at Ballyclare Comrades to earn an unexpected point, the Comrades enjoyed a commanding 3-1 lead going into the final minutes, but two goals from Oisin Duffy shocked the home side as ‘Stute left with a share of the points.
On Friday night, Annagh United defeated struggling Newry City at the Showgrounds 2-0 thanks to first half goals from Ryan Swan and Stephen Murray.
