Another huge week in the Playr-Fit Championship produced victories at the top of the table for Dundela, Portadown and Institute while Ards picked up an important three points at the other end of the standings.
It was also a good weekend for Ballinamallard United and bottom of the table Knockbreda.
Dundela continue to lead the way thanks to victory over Newington at Inver Park.
William Faulkner opened the scoring on 42 minutes, with Lee Rea doubling up on the stroke of half-time. He struck again with moments of the restart from the spot, with Aodhfionn Casey grabbing a consolation for the Swans late on.
Portadown had kicked the weekend off with a 2-1 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Bangor on Friday night thanks to Kenneth Kane’s stoppage time winner after David Hume had cancelled out Eamon Fyfe’s opener midway through the first half.
Institute needed just one goal to get the better of HW Welders at the Blanchflower Stadium with Michael Harris knocking home the decisive strike on 24 minutes after a dangerous ball had been played into the box.
Annagh United’s unbeaten run came to an end after nine games with defeat away to Ballinamallard, courtesy of John Edgar’s 95th minute winner for the Mallards while Knockbreda picked up only their third win of the season with a two-goal defeat of Ballyclare Comrades at Breda Park.
Marcus Murphy opened the scoring after eight minutes with a header from Matthew Henry’s cross, with Conor Quinn hitting the second on 55 minutes after Murphy’s initial effort had come off an upright.
Meanwhile, at Clandeboye Park, Ards hit two goals without reply past Dergview. Scoreless at the break, Lee Newell edged John Bailie’s side in front on 7 minutes with Michael Ruddy making sure from the spot in the closing moments.
