The new season’s Sports Direct Premiership fixtures can now be revealed as the quest for Gibson Cup glory begins!
The eagerly anticipated 2024/2025 campaign kicks-off on Saturday 10 August 2024.
Eight months of action will begin with twelve clubs competing in the 33-game regular season, before the top and bottom half ‘split’ for the final five games – to eventually crown the winner of the historic Gibson Cup by Saturday 26 April 2025.
Record numbers of fans enjoyed the excitement and drama of live games last year and the new Sports Direct Premiership campaign can once again be enjoyed both in stadiums and through season long broadcast coverage on BBC Sport NI and Sky Sports, and internationally through OneFootball.
Kicking off the new Sports Direct Premiership season reigning champions Larne begin the defence of the Gibson Cup at home to last season’s surprise package Loughgall.
In one of opening day’s the stand-out fixtures, new Crusaders manager Declan Caddell heralds in a new era with the club as they travel across the city to take on Declan Devine’s new look Glentoran side.
Another new era beckons at Coleraine, as new head coach Dean Shiels begins life in the dugout against his former club Dungannon Swifts on the opening weekend. Linfield will be looking to bring the Premiership title back to Windsor Park, starting with a trip to face Ballymena United at the Showgrounds.
Newly promoted Portadown return to the top-flight with a tricky trip to North Belfast to face Irish Cup holders Cliftonville at Solitude, whilst Carrick Rangers host Glenavon at the Loughview Leisure Arena.
Fixtures for the Playr-Fit Championship will be announced tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10am, with fixtures for the Playr-Fit Premier Intermediate League announced on Thursday at 10am.
