Larne have been paired with Latvian side FC RFS in the First Qualifying Round of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions' League.

The first leg will be played on either the 9th or 10th July, with the return taking place the following week. Exact dates and kick-off times for both games will be confirmed in the coming days, and supporters are strongly advised not to book any travel until then.

This will be Larne's second successive appearance in Europe's premier competition, but the first time they'll have the opportunity to hear the Champions League theme played at Inver Park after having to relocate to Solitude last season.

RFS, more formally known as RÄ«gas Futbola Skola, were founded as recently as 2016 and have claimed the local Virsliga on two occasions, initially in 2021 and then again in 2023.

Indeed, they have now finished in the top three six seasons in a row, and have reached four out of the last five domestic cup finals. Presently they sit top of the table with a five point lead after 18 games of the current campaign.

RFS, of course, no strangers to these shores having knocked Linfield out of the UEFA Conference League play-offs in dramatic fashion in the 2022/23 season and therefore became only the second Latvian side to reach the group stage of a major European competition.

Last season they exited the Conference League at the Second Qualifying Round stage, going out 4-1 on aggregate to Azerbaijani opponents Sabah FK.
