The Sports Direct Women's Premiership made its return after a three-week break and produced derby successes for Glentoran Women and Cliftonville Ladies, as well another victory for third placed Lisburn Rangers.

Defending champions Glentoran remain top of the table following a dramatic conclusion to their clash with Linfield Women at Midgley Park.

Scoreless at the break, Aimee Kerr fired the Glens in front following a great team move midway through the second half and it was a lead they held until two minutes into stoppage time when Alexandra Clarke levelled for the Blues.

But, just when it looked like the game would end all square, up popped substitute Jenna McKearney in the 94th minute to restore Glentoran's lead and claim what could prove to be a very valuable three points.

Across the city, a goal in each half proved enough for Cliftonville to get the better of Crusaders Strikers at Solitude.

Victoria Carleton edged the Reds in front on 36 minutes. Marissa Callaghan picked out Danielle Maxwell who, in turn, crossed for Carleton to smash the ball into the net from the edge of the six-yard box.

It was a slender lead in a keenly fought encounter, but Cliftonville made sure four minutes from time after Caitlin McGuinness collected the ball and showed great composure to go around keeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford and slot into the net from around 15 yards.

At Crewe Park Lisburn Rangers turned in a five-star performance to defeat Mid Ulster Ladies.

Rangers moved in front through a Rachael Rodgers own goal after a quarter-of-an-hour, with Caoimhe Gelston Mulholland extending the home lead on 32 minutes.

Then, early in the second half, Faye Loughran added a third before Sophie Megaw struck with a late double to put the outcome beyond any doubt.

Meanwhile Lisburn Ladies and Derry City Women battled to a share of the spoils at the Bluebell Stadium.

The home side led for most of the game after Leah Wilgaus fired them in front as early as the eighth minute, but the Candystripes fought back to level through Tara O'Connor-Farren with just over ten minutes remaining.
