Late goals seemed to be the order of the day as HW Welders, Ballyclare Comrades, Limavady United and Bangor all collected three points from the latest offerings of Playr-Fit Championship excitement.

The Welders lead the way, on goal difference, after defeating Institute 3-1 at the Brandywell.

Josh Kee kicked the scoring off midway through the first half from close range but Padraig Lynch levelled for ‘Stute not long after that.

Kee restored the Welders advantage early in the second half before David Parkhouse added a third just past the hour.

Ards, in second place, came from two goals down to share the spoils with Ballinamallard United at Ferney Park.

The Mallards raced into an early lead when Daniel Barker and James McGrath found the net with just over a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock.

But Ards pulled one back ten minutes into the second half through new signing Gary Donnelly before, in the 94th minute, Eamon Scannell grabbed the equaliser!

And there was a last gasp leveller at Holm Park as Armagh City and Newry City battled to an equal share of the six goals on offer.

Newry held a two-goal lead going into the closing moments of the first half when Steven Ball and a Scott McCann own goal seemed to give them a comfortable advantage.

However Odhran Smyth struck to bring the Eagles back into it before two Igor Rutkowski goals literally either side of the break tipped the balance in their favour … but just as it looked like they’d claim the points Ryan McNickle knocked home Newry’s equaliser from the spot in the third minute of added time.

At Dixon Park Conor Quinn hit Ballyclare Comrades’ winner in the 80th minute to get past Annagh United by the odd goal in three.

Eoin Teggart had fired the previously undefeated visitors in front as early as the tenth minute from the edge of the box, a lead they held until the opening moments of the second half when Michael Morgan struck a superb equaliser into the top right corner.

Quinn then popped up late in the game to finish low into the bottom left.

Michael McCrudden hit two spot-kicks on his way to a hat-trick as Limavady United defeated Dundela 3-2 at Wilgar Park.

McCrudden gave the Roesiders the edge at the break with his opener on 18 minutes, and doubled up in similar circumstances early in the second half.

Aaron Prendergast reduced the deficit just after the hour, but McCrudden responded almost immediately with his third of the afternoon.

Michael McLellan found the net for the Duns moments after that, but the visitors held on to claim the points.

Meanwhile, on Friday night, Bangor hit four goals without reply past Newington at Clandeboye Park.

The Seasiders lead at the break when Matthew Ferguson found the net on 22 minutes, and he went on to bag his second nine minutes from time.

Substitute Ben Cushnie added to the home advantage soon after before Tom Mathieson wrapped things up in the 91st minute.
